Kindles in the Wild – Bane’s Choice – Alyssa Day – August 13, 2022 – Philadelphia Zoo

Summer and I had such a fantastic time with her Job’s group today! I was totally exhausted from a 1am wake up followed by a 6-hour drive from Erie, but after a little power nap on the bus ride I pepped right up. It was nice to give someone else the wheel for a change.

This zoo is right in the heart of the city. If you couldn’t tell by the traffic, you can see the towering buildings and surrounding bridges as you walk through the Victorian style front gates. Be prepared to have your bags checked before you walk up to the ticket check station.

The zoo is really a wonderful place to take in nature and spend the day. No matter that the city surrounds you, the greenery and statuary mark every inch of the paths. And the animal exhibits are amazing! The zoo is essentially a big circle with little vignettes that you go off on to see the different geographical areas. There are lions, and tigers, and bears (oh my!) not to mention the cheetahs and red pandas, and so many more critters. If you aren’t careful, you may find yourself missing something. We never did make it around to the silverback and his ladies.

Oh! I almost forgot! As you travel around the zoo, be sure to look up. The zoo has provided skywalks throughout the grounds for the moneys and the big cats, although we didn’t see any big cats in the sky while we were there. They even have a sky apparatus for the humans if you feel like taking a peek into a monkey’s view. And don’t forget to stop in one of the gift shops. I found this adorable backpack, but I managed to restrain myself and refrained from purchasing it.

Overall, we had a wonderful time, and it was even better for having shared it with friends. This is one of those places that I highly recommend you experiencing for yourselves. And I have the perfect book for you to take along on the journey.

This book is a first in series that I have read before but was craving a re-read. The characters are every bit as good as the first time, and I once again found myself lost in the story. I love how our hero was shown his true colors and earned the heart of his angel even when he thought he didn’t deserve a mate. There are bad guys that think death is just the beginning but get shown the error of their ways. This is one of those books I could read again and again, but first I need to re-read book 2 and I am looking forward to reading book 3 as soon as it’s available.

Even if your feet never make it to the zoo, I hope this book makes it into your To Be Read folder. One, or both, you won’t be disappointed.

Happy Reading

Bane’s Choice (Vampire Motorcycle Club Book 1)

Published to Amazon on October 27, 2020

Author Alyssa Day

Vampires are back for a reason! Meet the sexy, dark hero Bane in New York Times bestselling author Alyssa Day's smokin'-hot romance.

Bane lost his humanity ages ago. Nothing is more important than protecting his Vampire Motorcycle Club from the death magic invading his territory. The most ancient of vampires, he seeks cold, unfeeling, bloody vengeance...until a frustratingly sexy human doctor is thrust into his path. She tempts Bane to distraction. And distraction is deadly in his world.

Buttoned-up and meticulous Dr. Ryan St. Cloud never thought she’d find herself in the mix of a motorcycle club, let alone one full of terrifyingly badass vampires. Or how intrigued she is by their dark and enigmatic leader, who seems balanced on the knife’s edge of killing her...or claiming her.

But Bane’s choice is harder than it seems, because when that danger hits too close to home, he’s forced to choose between her life and everyone else’s…

Official published review:

A fight between good and evil

This was my first experience with this author and I enjoyed every minute of it. With no hesitation the author thrust us right into the thick of things and then filled in from there. The characters are well developed, and I enjoyed the way they thought and the way the interacted throughout the book. I love how there are moments of humor to even out the drama and the action and danger are at an all time high. The author kept me glued to my ebook from the first page to the last and I can’t wait to see what she does with all the possible stories in her next book.
