Are you guys ready to check out a little-known secret in the PA wilderness with me? The girls found this gem on the Only In Your State site, which if you couldn’t tell before, we love checking out to see what new and interesting locations we can find to travel to with my Kindle. This particular site has been many things including an old German POA camp. Yep! Right there, hidden in PA, is an old POW camp.
The old swimming pool is still there, but I wouldn’t recommend trying out the water as there is no idea what is lurking below the surface. Mollee wanted to go in the creepy door at the bottom of the stairs, supposedly the changing rooms from the pool, but I said no since we didn’t want to bring anyone or thing home with us. I highly recommend tick repellant as there are signs all over the place letting you know of its importance.
There is not much left to it now other then the concrete foundations and historical markers, but it is such an interesting location to hike through and explore. Mollee enjoyed all of the stairs to nowhere, and I loved the waterfalls, but we never did find the German graffiti that was noted in the website. This camp actually became a Church Camp once the POW camp was no more, and it is not too far from some other exciting locations which I will be adding separate posts about.
This trip just happened to coincide with when I was trying out an actual Kindle, but it looks so small and lonely up there and the picture wasn’t in color, so it was back to the IPad mini 5 not to long after that. But the book that I read during my trial period was fantastic! I loved the characters, and the story just drew me right in. I highly recommend it if you have the time, just be warned that it is one of those books that sucks you right into the series rabbit hole.
If you are GPS savvy, love heading out into the woods and are a history buff, then this is the location for you. At the parking spot there is a map with the markers for the self-guided tour and there are so many other amazing things to see while you are in the area. But as always be sure to bring along an amazing book to pass the downtime with.
Happy Reading

Secrets of the night
This story is amazing! The author put an entirely new spin on vampires and I couldn’t have enjoyed it more. I love the characters! The main characters are a fantastic couple and their story enthralled me from the very beginning. I love all the supporting characters and how the author intertwined them so perfectly. By the time I reached the HEA I was desperate to move onto book two and the secrets I hope will be revealed. This was the first book I’ve read by this author and I can’t wait to read the next one.
