Kindles in the Wild – My Brother’s Keeper – Alanea Alder – May 6, 2022 – Old Pro Golf

For this one we’re going to have to do a bit of a time hop, yep! Way back to May. It’s not that I didn’t have the book read, just that so many amazing things have happened since then. This particular event started as all good stories do, It was a dark and stormy night……..

No! Seriously! It was literally a dark and stormy night, with flash floods, and strikes of lightning, and not being able to see the road in front of you. You know, the perfect time to take the daughters for some midnight Chick-fil-a and mini golf. Well, it was really 9pm, but midnight sounds so much more exciting.

This was part of our first trip to the ocean this year. We traveled down for a Job’s conference and all the fun that entails. From fancy dresses to building sandcastles in the sand, it was a whirlwind trip. The mini golf location actually has an indoor and outdoor course, but due to the weather we missed out on the pirates. 🥺 but there is hope, the girls and I are headed back to the beach, so maybe we will get to try it again, minus the rain and late-night hour.

The book that helped keep me awake between bursts of food and stimulating conversation was kind of perfect for this event. It’s full of long visuals and keeping watch. It’s one of my favorites and a frequent reread. I love the characters and how Meryn finally finds her brother from another mother in Kendrick. As par for the course, there is mischief and mayhem, and a love that was meant to be. This book is a definite must read, no matter the location.

Be it dark and stormy or sunny and bright, I think you will love this OC, MD favorite.

Happy Reading

Published to Amazon on November 17, 2015

Author Alanea Alder

Two hundred years ago Kendrick Ashwood had a premonition that showed him the gruesome image of his baby brother being killed in the line of duty while serving with the Alpha Unit. When centuries go by and Keelan is still alive and well, he begins to relax. He believes that his prayers sent to the Gods to make him wrong this one time have been answered. As Kendrick feels his godsdaughter’s magic flare out of control he immediately merges with her in an attempt to rein it in. That is when he learns of the tragedy that has taken his only family away from him. Using every resource at his disposal he immediately heads for Lycaonia to find out for himself who would be suicidal enough to harm his brother. What he finds shocks him to his core. Anne Bennett gets a phone call that changes her life. Her new best friend Keelan has been hurt and his commander is asking her to move in to help take care of him. Her heart breaks when she hears from his family that the dreams she has been having of them together were shared by Keelan and that he was meant to be her mate. Upon meeting Kendrick, her entire world is shaken. His more mature appearance and perpetual frown makes him look more like the man from her dreams than Keelan ever did. As the Alpha Unit races to find the enemies who have stolen Keelan’s soul and covered Lycaonia in black magic, Kendrick begins to uncover dreadful truth behind the necklaces. When turning to Anne feels more natural than it should, Kendrick faces the fact that Anne truly is his mate. As the paranormal world teeters on the brink of chaos, he finds himself protecting not his brother’s mate, but his own.

Official published review:

That’s what brothers do

This series just continues to get better with each book. The alpha unit is at it again, keeping us on our toes and grabbing our sides as they take us through an emotional wringer love, laughter, anger, family and friendship. In true alpha unit form, we meet some new people and reconnect with everyone else. I can’t wait to read what happens next!
