So far, this trip has been a lot of rain, but we had good luck and there was not a drop of rain in sight when we stopped in at the zoo. Luckily it was not overly hot or humid out because this zoo is not for the faint of heart or overly unfit. There are hills for days and a lot of walking between the different sections of the zoo. There is a free tram, but it is just to get you from stop A to stop B, it is not a tour of the zoo. There are benches all over the place though, and there is a little water park area for the kids to cool down. And of course, the animal exhibits are phenomenal. Some of the exhibits are super close to the pedestrian walkways and you feel like you can just walk up and right into them to see the animals.
No matter how daunting the hill is, be sure that you check out all of the little corners or you might miss something. Like the rope walks, or the reptile house, there are even vampires, if you are brave enough to find them. Just be warned, when you stop in to see King Louise, you are hit with a wall of humidity the likes of which you rarely see outside of the rainforest. Speaking of vampires, I brought the perfect book to head out on the search. This book is the 12th book in the series and one that I have been remiss in reading until now. It’s not because I did not want to read the book, it was because I just loved the first 11 so much that I couldn’t make myself move on beyond them. The author really outdid herself with this book though. The characters were as fantastic as always and Steve was up to his normal shenanigans that made the laughs keep coming. There was plenty of danger, and the girl squad showed the boys exactly how amazing they really are.
This book was a fantastic read and perfect complement to the location. But you don’t have to wait until you don’t have to wait until you find yourself in Kentucky to enjoy the story. Although I highly recommend a trip if you have the time and love the zoo. But the book, I highly recommend you read today, you are not going to want to wait as long as I did to see how amazing it really is. Oh and did I forget to mention that they had lego exhibits all around the zoo. Just look in the hidden spots to find them.
Happy Reading

Ronan (The Protectors Series) Book #12
Published to Amazon on July 30, 2018
Author Teresa Gabelman
Most think that newest VC Warrior, Ronan McDonald, is just a laid-back cowboy. What they don’t see is the inner turmoil that only his small ranch and horses can tame. At least that is until a witch with a beauty none could deny walks into his life. Running has been Kira Grail’s life for as long as she can remember. It isn’t until she meets a VC Warrior that she realizes she’s grown weary, but the forces chasing her will never bend. Ronan doesn’t believe in magic or curses. What he does believe is that only he can keep Kira safe. Together, they fight to bring the once powerful warlock, Orjyll, to his knees, releasing the women of the Dragonfly Coven. During their perilous journey, Kira vows to keep her distance, but the vampire cowboy has other plans.

Save a horse
I’m so glad I finally got around to reading this book. I’ve had it for a while, but the other books are just so good that I keep re-reading them instead. This cowboy wasn’t looking for his mate, but he found her anyway, and she is a serious flight risk. Good thing he can see into the heart of the matter and steer her in the right direction though. As like with the other Protectors books, the guys are overprotective alpha males who just can’t give the ladies a break. Good thing the gals don’t hold a grudge and are more than happy to ride to the rescue when needed. The story is full of action, danger, betrayal, secrets revealed, and above all else, love. I enjoyed this addition to the series, and I am excited to see what happens next.

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Teresa Gabelman, writes paranormal romance and contemporary romance with a side of humor in each story. Her heroines are strong and independent keeping the sexy alpha heroes on their toes. Being a wife to a wonderful man who was my high school honey and a mother to a 17-year-old son who is my world and working 40 hour weeks takes up a lot of my spare time. Even with all of that I still find time to read my favorite authors and find new ones to give me a break from reality. My love and passion for the written word sent me on a journey 18 years ago, a journey to be able to do what my favorite authors do for me and that is to take someone away from the daily grind and send them into a world where they can root for their hero’s, hate the villain’s, love and well be kind of jealous of heroine, laugh, cry and be bummed when ‘The End’ comes too quickly. 18 years ago I wrote my first book. 17 years ago I had my son and life happened. It’s time to travel the road that I had to detour from for a time and achieve my goal, my dream and hopefully my reality. Being a full-time writer has allowed Teresa to connect more with readers which is what she loves most about writing. If you find the time, she would love to hear from you!
