This trip to Florida is a little lazier than some of my other journeys, so we have been able to take our time and go where the mood strikes us. It’s just my youngest and me, and we don’t want to go anywhere that her sister would be upset about missing out on. Yep, that means no Disney or Universal again for this trip. I hope I get to make it there some day.
On one of our lazy days, we ventured out to see what we could see and finally ended up following the little brown signs to this hidden gem. It’s not very big, only one room actually, but the displays are bright and informative, and the guide was nice and really knew what she was talking about. She shared the history of the area and it’s citrus production while we slowly wandered around viewing the displays.
If you find yourself in the Vero Beach area, I highly recommend popping in for a quick visit. Just be sure to sign the visitors’ log to help support their ability to stay open. Because there is no charge to visit and the grants help them to stay open to share history with the next visitor.
The book I brought along is the first in a series that I find myself often enjoying. The author put her amazing creativity to good use and invited us into her special world. The characters are life-like and draw you into the story. Each pain, injury, and joy is one you long to see and can’t help but to continue reading to see what happens next. The story is fantastical and set in reality, it makes you want to search the shadows to see if there are a pair of watchful eyes looking back at you. Each page brings a new bit of turmoil and joy that you just don’t want to see end. But you can’t know who will be saved next if you don’t read the last page. The true conundrum of a well written story, you want to see the end, but you don’t want it to end. I bet you can’t wait to get started, can you?
Happy Reading!

Author Christine Feehan
#1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan plunges readers into the darkest recesses of the mind as a man and a woman discover the terrifying power—and the forbidden passion—that could destroy them both in the first novel in the GhostWalker series. The brainchild of renowned scientist Peter Whitney and his brilliant daughter, Lily, the GhostWalker experiment was created to enhance the psychic abilities of an elite squadron, transforming their natural telekenetic powers into a unique military weapon. But something has gone wrong... In the isolated underground, the men have been dying, victims of bizarre accidents. Captain Ryland Miller knows he is next. When Dr. Whitney himself is murdered, Ryland has only one person left to trust: the beautiful Lily. Possessed of an uncanny sixth sense herself, Lily shares Ryland’s every new fear, every betrayal, every growing suspicion, and every passionate beat of the heart. Together, they will be drawn deeper into the labyrinth of her father’s past...and closer to a secret that someone would kill to keep hidden.

Playing catch-up
This author has such an amazing ability to create a story and characters that you get drawn into while building a world where you know the information is accurate and she has done a tremendous amount of research on. I love the way these characters interact and the way they are all connected, not just the featured couple. This story is so intense and full of emotion that it held my interest beyond the HEA. I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series and discovering who will find their other half next.
