You guys! I feel like it has been forever since I had the chance to just sit and chat with you. Okay not forever, since I am slowly posting my Kindles in the Wild from the past year, but it’s been a long time. I apologize for the big breaks in communication, but I went back to school in October to obtain my bachelor’s degree and between it, work, and the daily running around, I have not had a lot of free time to touch base. I hope you all are doing well, staying warm, and not working too hard.
This past year was a super busy year for the girls and me. I feel like those lyrics, “I’ve been everywhere man”, certainly apply to us. It’s kind of chilly here today, so I wanted to set us up with a bit of sunshine, surf, and sand. You know the three Ss that get us through the summer. The girls and I spent part of our annual week-long vacation down in Ocean City Maryland this year. We like to stay on the bayside, you know, less traffic and more actual parking lots, but we took a day and rode the bus up to the boardwalk so we could see the sites and get in some walking time before taking the bus back down to our little corner of the bay. Because is it really a trip to the ocean if you have not trekked up to the boardwalk?
We went in the early afternoon at the beginning of the week, so the crowds were not too bad. That doesn’t mean the seagulls were not itching to grab some of our fries though. The nasty little beggars. Overall, we had a fantastic time, we got to look out at the ocean, hang a lock on the pier, grab some treats from some of our favorite eateries, and get in some beachside shopping. Not to mention getting to take in the sights and sounds of the boardwalk and the history that is all around it.
The book I took along for this venture was an okay read. I absolutely loved the storyline and the characters, but the writing style just seemed a little off. Kind of like the fogging rolling in and I just felt like I was in a bubble. Of course, that could have just been me and I was exhausted from running all over the place and being out under the sun in the salty air, but who knows. I enjoyed this book enough that I want to read it again to see if it was me or the writing that didn’t quite mesh. I am always open to other opinions, so please take a chance and let me know what you think.
No matter where you read it at, this book is worth the time to enjoy. Although you know me, I am all about sitting back and reading no matter where the sun and waves take me. The only drawback to all of our fun in the sun is that sometimes the picture of my book covers are not able to be seen and I have to edit the pictures when I get home.
Happy Reading

Taskforce Bear Boss: A Hero Shifter Romance (Bear Bosses of Samhain Book 1)
Published to Amazon on December 24, 2020
Author Lisa Daniels
I have a hot bear boss. Shame he doesn’t interact much with us. Horace is a shifter, a cop who leads our taskforce. I have a little magic, which is used to help solve crimes. We’re heroes in the city of Stoneshire – at least until a new killer hits the streets – one that even my magic can’t find. My boss is determined to solve the case, and I’m determined to help him. It’s for the security of our city. It’s to maintain our department’s reputation. And it’s certainly not because I also want to get to know him better…

Clear the cobwebs
The storyline on this book is fantastic! So much action and danger and emotional turmoil! I enjoyed the characters, and I loved watching them grow and develop their relationship over the course of the story. The writing style was a little off for me, I don’t know how else to describe it, but it was a little like reading through fog. But the story was so good that I completely forgot it as I was turning the pages. This book was worth reading and I am looking forward to seeing what happens next.

Lisa Daniels is a (young) retired school teacher who resides in Miami. After five years of teaching, Lisa Daniels found that it wasn’t quite the world that she wanted to inhabit. After leaving her position, she moved to Miami. She hasn’t regretted it. In her worlds, Lisa Daniels creates characters that go beyond the usual narrative. While they definitively include romance, Lisa Daniels strives to make the worlds more real with characters that are more than just cardboard cutouts of the genre. All of the main characters (and many of the secondary ones) have a rich history that span much longer than the stories themselves. This makes it easy to weave the stories together so that you can see characters you met in previous tales and see how they have managed since. The Dragons of Letera is her first standalone series. Letera is a world teaming with romance, action, and stories – it is a world that Lisa Daniels loves to explore with her readers, one character at a time.
