There were so many fantastic events that occurred on this whirl wind trip to watch my daughter perform in Swan Lake. I think I have mentioned it before, but she is going to school in the frozen north. So of course, that meant it was basically raining white stuff from the sky, in some form, the entire time that we were there. Not enough to need snow removal or a shovel, but enough to be annoying. Gotta love that lake effect.
My friend and I drove up to hang out with Mollee, which meant a huge bill at the supermarket up there as she wasn’t coming home for Thanksgiving, and a day at the mall since it was snowing too much to do anything outside, and then see her performance. We made really good time on the way up so were able to spend more time with her then I thought. Of course, Mollee already knew this as apparently it is a thing to track your parents and see where they are in the world. I had no idea my phone could do that until she called me and asked if I was coming to see her once before. I guess I shared my location with her at some point, and now when she is lonely and bored, she plays where in the world is mom.
Who knows! Anyway, this performance was wonderful. Mollee didn’t have a huge part, but it was so good to see her on the stage again after not being able to sit in theaters for so long. The swans were magical and the party scene divine, I can’t wait to go to the next performance.
We got there kind of early just in case there were a lot of people attending and well you know, snow. Better early then late when the white stuff hits the ground. And I had the perfect book to keep me entertained until the house lights went down. This book is the third one about this little town and it was every bit as enjoyable as the first two. I love the characters and the way they struggled a bit on the journey to their life together. The author did her normal and kept the action and danger high while ensuring that flare of romance kept me steadily reading on. This book fit perfectly with the rest of her Dark Protectors world and left me wanting more. If you haven’t read anything from this author before, this is the perfect book to start with.

Vampire: A Dark Protectors/Rebels Novella
Published to Amazon on April 13, 2021
Author Rebecca Zanetti
From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Rebecca Zanetti comes a new story in her Dark Protectors/Rebels series… Dr. Mariana Lopez has finally stopped bailing friends out of difficult situations. Well, except for substituting as the leader for another anger management group, pitching in as a campaign strategist for a prospective sheriff, and babysitting three dogs. Even with such a full life, she can feel the danger around her—a sense that something isn’t right. Nightmares harass her, until the real thing comes to life, and only the dark and sexy male sitting in her group can save her. However, with safety comes a price she might not be willing to pay. Raine Maxwell is one of the Maxwells out of Montana, which means he's not only one of the most deadly vampires alive, but his path is set and his mate has been chosen for him. To save him—to continue his line. Unfortunately, his mate is an enhanced human female who has no idea of her abilities, of his species, or of her future. He’d like to lead her gently into this new world, but his people aren’t the only ones who’ve found her, which puts her into more danger than she can imagine. Plus, in order to follow his laws, he only has one week to convince her that immortality with him is what she wants—and needs. **Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**
Official published review:
Stalked by love
This little town is becoming the perfect refuge for the immortally inclined and each new story adds to the weave. I love the characters in this story! We got a chance to see some of the other couples I love and we got to watch these two struggle together while trying to stay apart. But the author knew exactly what she was doing when she threw in a stalker, a crooked cop, and fate, making for a dangerous and exciting book that I just couldn’t put down. The story is fast paced and steamy, and everything I expect from this talented author. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next one, but until then I find myself wanting to start the series all over again.

A GR BB
Rebecca Zanetti is the author of over forty romantic suspense, dark paranormals, and contemporary romances, and her books have appeared multiple times on the New York Times, USA Today, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and iBooks bestseller lists. She lives in the wilds of the Pacific Northwest with her own Alpha hero, two kids, a couple of dogs, a crazy cat…and a huge extended family. She believes strongly in luck, karma, and working her butt off…and she thinks one of the best things about being an author, unlike the lawyer she used to be, is that she can let the crazy out.
