Year in Books – 2021

You guys! This has been some year, hasn’t it? I lost my mom, we survived COVID (again), the girls and I headed to Florida (and tons of other amazing places near and far), I read lots of pretty fantastic books (not as many as I wanted to), and we got through the entire Countdown to Christmas, and so many wonderful things happened this year that they are too numerous to list. And now I am so very ready to get started on 2022, but first I need to share just a few more things before closing the closet door on 2021.

Let’s start with my Year in Books. As I said, I didn’t get as many books read as I had hoped. Okay maybe my goal was a bit overzealous, but I was pretty much on track until the end of June when my year got derailed. Out of 1,000 books I managed to read 593. Wow! That’s still pretty impressive if I do say so myself. According to Goodreads, that equals 115,136 pages.

Plus, when you look back at my reading totals since 2018, I still did better then that first year of actually keeping track. 😊 Of course, reading less books meant posting less on my blog because I prefer to have personally read the books that show up on my blog so I can endorse them with the knowledge that I enjoyed them. My apologizes to those Historical Romance readers, they are not my thing so you will rarely ever see them on my blog. No working bathroom, no cell phone or iPad, not somewhere I want to escape to. Which is pretty odd since I have no issue taking a tent and hitting the trails. But it is what it is.

I guess I am a glutton for punishment because once again I have set my sights on a reading goal of 1,000 books. I might not make it, but I am sure going to have fun trying.

What are your reading goals for 2022? Did you meet your goal for 2021? No worries either way, even if you read just 1 book a year, you are headed in the right direction.

Happy Reading

Sydney
